in an effort to staunch my fetishistic hoarding of yarn, i've cast on for a new project using yarns entirely from my stash. this sweater is a take on my most recent design, Bibi. i hope to make it smockier with more exaggerated shirring and with a slightly longer, fuller sleeve. at least, that's the idea. my designs tend to have a mind of their own and my idea is usually never more than a vague working plan so you never know... the yarn is koigu pppm. at last count, i had about 55 partial skeins. that should be enough, right?
i promised myself that i wouldn't spend this post complaining about how much i hate this dreadful weather, and how i can't be outdoors in daylght hours for longer than 15 minutes because i start to feel ill, and how much i hate having to put my hair up or under something because the sun completely fries it when i wear it down. so i won't. instead i'm trying to think of fun things to do indoors and trips close to home that i could take because flights are so ridiculously expensive and with so many flights cancelled the chances of me being trapped in an airplane or airport for hours and totally flipping out are too high. Mad Men is back soon, right?
i'm hosting a Yarnplayers group on Ravelry. join us why don't you? we're plannign a group knitting project.
so, what are you up to this summer?
I can't wait to see how this turns out. I really love how these colors are working out.

this looks so cool! You always inspire me... Didn't you make a long Koigu coat a couple years ago? i was trying to find some pics of that again, but couldn't find it on your blog anywhere. You should put it up on Ravelry!!!!!! I have been thinking of making one of those... someday!
Stay cool!!!!!!!!
